Renal Calculi

A Male aged 40 years with severe abdominal pain, came to me, when I was about to close my clinic in the night.                                        
He was having severe acute abdominal pain, mainly in the left lumbar radiating to back. Typical renal colic.                                                                                                                                                                When I inquired him about the h/o renal stones, he said yes. 2yrs back also he has renal calculi.

He feels the pain on slightest motion based on his presentation,
-Left ureter stone+<slightest movement,
Berberis vulgaris 200 OD was given
And if there is no change in pain asked him to go for USG abdomen and pelvis in the morning.
In the morning he messaged me thanking profusely that he has passed a calculi of about 6mm size 3 hours after taking Berberis.

I know Berberis could only acted as a state remedy and he needs a constitution treatment to prevent relapse. But still it is good to know the remedy based on their pathological action and when it covers patients sides and PQRS, most of time it helps, Though Berberis is often prescribed in mother tincture, when indicated, it acts in potency also.
